Even you don’t like red wine, the red wine sauce is one of the best sauce for the beef.
Ingredients:
4 filet mignon about 2 inch thick
4 tablespoons butter unsalted
Canola oil
2 cups red wine
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Preparation
Take the steaks out of the fridge 1 hour before cooking. Just before cooking pat dry the meat with paper towels. Then brush the steaks with some canola oil. Sprinkle with some salt.
In a frying pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over high heat. Place the steaks into the pan and reduce the heat to medium high. Sear for about 3 minutes and flip the steaks to cook the other side for another 3 minutes.
Place the steaks in a plate and cover with foil. Pour the red wine into the pan and bring to a boil Cook for about 6 minutes until the wine has reduced more than half. Then remove from the heat. Stir in the tablespoons of butter (one tablespoon at a time) and stir until well combined. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the sauce over the steaks and serve.
